Following on from last weeks list of things to do, I was thinking of things that combined several of the ideas. Getting into cold water can cover up to 5, which this certainly did: wash with cold water, get out into the fresh air, do something hard, stretch & move and smile & laugh. Unsurprisingly yesterday the sea was super calm.
I don’t advise doing this without letting someone know where you are & what you are up to. Whilst I love getting into cold water, I am aware of how dangerous it can be (which does help with doing something challenging) so made sure Jenny knew where I was. The roughness certainly reduces the feeling of cold, I do find getting into choppy sea water far less uncomfortable than getting into still ponds. I suspect the water’s around 7.5/8 degrees at the moment, especially with the air temperature having been around 3/4 degrees for the last 10 days or so.
