What does running mean to you:
It’s great for my mental health, it’s a release, it brings me a lot of joy. I love knowing my bodies capable of running and the feel of it. I love getting outside on the trails, seeing nature.
Favourite place to run:
Definitely trails. I live in Reading where there’s some really nice trails and bridal-ways. I love just getting out along there.
Your best running memory:
A couple – Disney World marathon, that was amazing running through the fairy palace, and the finish line with an ugly sister and today as this to the first race I’ve had my children at.
Why does running matter?
I think it keeps people fit and healthy – but does a lot more than just that. The friendships that come out of running. I know it does wonders for people’s mental health – it’s prescribed on the NHS. I think it’s really freeing and beautiful, there’s so much you can do with it – get out in nature, a wonderful pursuit.
Running plans for the future:
I’m going to be wearing the strawberry again, the Shinfield 10k – hopefully with a flash mob of other fruits and vegetables. We’re doing it for Share Wokingham, raising funds and awareness for that. I didn’t get into London, so luckily I won’t have to wear this for that.
